Community Garden Harvesting Information

UNC Asheville Community Gardens

Some of the produce growing in on-campus community gardens is available for community members to harvest. However, it is important to follow the harvesting guidelines below to help ensure the continued health, productivity and safety of the gardens so that everyone can enjoy them.

You can find maps for the three campus gardens on the Student Environmental Center website.

SEC Harvest Guidelines

  • Harvest when a Garden Manager is present
  • Make sure that hands and tools are clean
  • Make sure you know how to harvest each plant you take.  If you’re unsure just ask!
  • Take no more than what you need
  • Store harvested food in clean, food-safe containers
